After completing my Master’s degree in Operational Research at The London School of Economics, I joined British Telecom as a graduate. It was there that I was introduced to Lean and Six Sigma and was able to combine my academic knowledge of process improvement with business improvement. I qualified as a Black Belt Six Sigma in 2002 and worked on various projects across the organisation including improving customer satisfaction and reducing complaints, whilst also spearheading a change in internal KPIs and designing new and improved processes across the organisation. I stayed within the wider BT group for over 12 years and since leaving, I have worked in-house and as a consultant for various housing associations, NHS hospitals as well as a brand management company.
I have gained significant experience in supporting and delivering various projects, with a particular focus on Simulation modelling. This allows an organisation to understand, improve and simplify complex processes and recently, this has been crucial in providing support to the NHS during the COVID-19 pandemic, applying it to enable capacity planning in hospitals.
Continuous Improvement is my passion, and in my time, I have empowered organisations to establish and apply Lean and Six Sigma as a mindset, by providing coaching, training and project support.
In 2014 I retrained as a Black Belt with The Lean Six Sigma Company, and in 2019 I joined them as a trainer and have trained both in-house and external courses since. There is nothing more satisfying that bringing people on the Lean Six Sigma journey and seeing them apply it to make their lives better!
